Crazy Marble 2 Demo

DOWNLOAD CRAZY MARBLE 2 DEMO (40 mb)

Above is the link for the first demo build of Crazy Marble 2. This was created using A6.31.4 pro and uses the Game Studio physics engine.

Game goals: Finish levels as fast as you can to earn bonus score and money. Money is used to upgrade any of the 4 marble attributes. (The Demo limits you to $6,000. There is only one additional 'hidden' marble skin in the demo.)

Default Controls:
Arrow keys move the marble.
Left Mouse Button Jump/Fly (with power up)
Right Mouse Button Turbo / Fly (with power up)
Mouse Wheel zooms the camera
Mouse moves the camera

The demo includes 5 levels from the full version:

Level 1 - Learn to control the marble and you must collect all the gems in the level to advance to the next level.

Level 5 - Shows the piston hazard and has many physics pushable blocks.

Level 9 - Introduces the flying power up.

Level 26 - Introduces the super jump power up. Medium length level.

Level 47 - Racing faster paced style level. Includes several ice trap hazards.

Sample Screenshots (from the full version):

Larger size screenshots are available at Head Buzz Games. The full version and demo are not linked from the website yet. The demo link is at the top of this post.

I am uncertain of the lowest speed system that will run the game in a playable state. The 'Z' key will toggle a small frames per second counter in the bottom right of the screen. CPU, RAM and graphics card information along with your frames per second is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

Good, I like it as a casual game.

The performance could be a bit better, this is probably
due to the physics.

What is the reward for collecting the coins?
There should be some reward for the gameplay, execept just showing a cash balance.
Like purchading a marbe skin, bonus level, extending the length of the powerups,
or making the ball react faster.

Fun game. But I suggest stopping the camera from going through level geometry.

you should probably read the post

edit:
I played it, and have to say its pretty fun, it seems a bit hard for a casual game, but it is solid and fun

@Damocles: Thank you. 'Z' toggles a small frames per second counter in the bottom right of the screen. If the ball moved very slow, it is likely the result of poor frames per second. Did the game feel sluggish? What are you system specs?

The reward for collecting coins is money. Money is used to upgrade any of the 4 marble attributes on each marble. These attributes include top speed, acceleration, turbo power and turbo tank.

There are 7 unlock-able marbles in the full version. Only 1 is avilable in the demo...

@Stansmedia: Thank you. The collision with the camera with the piston trap and the pushable blocks was removed as a design decision. I felt it 'popped' the camera up and back too much when the collision was enabled with those objects (as well as some others).

@lostclimate: Thank you.

P.S. - There is also a manual in windows help format that is included in the install. This describes most of the features and menu navigation.

Oh another suggestion. When your on the ground the ball makes a rolling sound, but when you jump up it abruptly ends. Rather then just ending the sound, you should consider using snd_tune to gradually decrease its volume to like 10 or something. Keep it playing at a low level in the air, its a cool sound!

well since its already published, i dont think that an option for him anymore, but if im wrong, it might be nice to have it graduate into a swishing sound instead

Thank you for the kind comments and remarks.

The full version is now available at Head Buzz Games for anyone who is interested!

@mercuryus: I will look into the possibility of translating to the German language. I am uncertain of the time that this will require.

Jason
