World Challenge Soccer 2006

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on my second title with 3DGS called "World Challenge Soccer 2006". The demo version will be available early 2005. My publisher shows big interest in this title, so I think it will be also released through Greenstreet Games. Release date will be probably 2005.

Main features are:
- realistic ball physics
- different team characterstics
- each team player has his own conditions, like stamina, motivation, injuries
- 3 game modes: friendly game, world challenge, multiplayer
- choose between 20 national teams
- realistic stadium amtosphere

I am developing WCS 2006 since July now with the same small team from RC Boat Challenge and I want to show you the first screenshots.

I am looking forward to the replys,
Florian

Just one question. Do the people in the stands move? If they did somehow, I would not imaging that they were models. Just wondering.

@YeaWhatever: One model has about 2600 vertices. The texture size is 512x512.

WOW - so kool - you ROCK

Why does the players have so many vertices, doesn't this slow down your FPS.

@MaxF: Thanks for the comment! In the close up shots the models look rather good with the amount of vertics. I hadn't problems with the FPS, even if
all 22 Players are in view. But I will optimize the models for older graphic cards anyway.

It is only an idea, But one thing i think would add a great footy, er i mean soccer atmoshpere would be the inclusion of flood light shadows, like 4 shadows being casted from different angles. I know that if you were to use 4 actual shadows, this would most probably have an imense effect on framerate, but perhaps if you used a static image as the shadows instead of real-time it would look ok?
