Commander Josh is alive again..... Final result.

Even though I'm not actively developing the game anymore and development has come to an end, still I would like to post the final result of the game.

Perhaps some of you may know that Caligari held a gameSpace Summer Shootout Interactive Demo Contest and I decided to enter. Mainly because I did put a lot of time and effort in creating the game. It took over 6 months of modeling, animating, coding and creating levels for this game. My two entries submitted to the contest in the beginning of June, were viewed by the judges as one entry. The game became First Runner Up (2nd place), with which I am very very pleased of course.

You can see the final result here , just scroll down a bit and look for Commander Josh 3D. There you will find two demo levels also.

Have fun playing the game. The game has reached it's final development stage with these 2 levels and I'm happy with the way it all turned out. Some of you may have seen the first level, but the second is completely new, so I recommend downloading that one too.

I've decided to post the game in SCII, not jut because I've got a second place in a contest, but because I've already had some offers for going commercial with the game. (That will never happen since I'm no longer into game development.) Still thought some of you may enjoy playing the game. Both of the demo's have a pdf helpfile, please go through it before playing the game.

Tools used in developing the 2 levels: 3D GameStudio A6 Commercial, gameSpace 1.5, Serif PhotoPlus 9, Amorphium 1.0 and Bryce 5 .

Thanks to all of you. I really didn't expect to win anything in the competition, knowing that some of the people that were entering are much more experienced in 3D game creation then I am, but to my surprise the game was well received by the judges. I'm almost tempted to pick up game creation again....

..Not to be pushy, but you should. If you can make something this good, that obviously means you can do good things and help people who want to learn.

I would help, but you know, I suck.
