I just learned from a user the sad news that Peter Rasmussen, the legendary machinima movie maker, died March 12 in Sydney. Details can be found at http://www.machinimafordummies.com/articles/2008/03/12/rip-peter-rasmussen.

Peter was the author of the Gamestudio based movies “Rendevous”, “Killer Robot” and “Stolen Life”. His movies regularly won all the top awards at Machinima Festivals. He seldom posted on the forum - I don't know if he even had an account - but we exchanged many emails about his movies. He was a very creative and talented person and found many unique ways to convert Gamestudio to a movie machine.

His death is a great loss to the machinima and also the Gamestudio community.

I am not sure many on the game studio community were aware of his achievements
as said he didnt really take part in the forums, I would recomend checking his movies out.

I have to admit that I had never even heard of Peter Rasmussen before. Looking at the Stolen Life trailer, it's obvious that I missed out on some really good stuff that he created.

Amazing skill at work there ! A loss of talent and skill. Sad.

That's really sad news.
I talked with him a couple of times throughout the years. His work was excellent and it influenced me to pick up gamestudio in the beginning.

this is sad news! his movies are great. i often read his blog and wondered why there weren't any updates anymore since a few months. i also saw him on tv once in a documentary about machinima film making.

I'm very sorry to hear about this news, he was a great man indeed.
My deepest condolences towards all of his family and friends.
