I created a level that incorporates some map terrain created with NEM's and some walls created with WED. When I build the level I get an error: W092: Level Leaking! The level is completely surrounded by a sky box, so I don't know why I am getting this error. If I delete lage portions of the terrain the error goes away. This is the first time when using a terrain generated by NEM's that I have encountered this error. My question: How do I discover exactly WHICH block or blocks is causing this error so I can fix the leak? (other than deleting one block at a time ).

HI DAN, I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THIS PROBLEM RELATES TO THE MAIN BOX SURROUNDING THE MAP. THIS BEING A FAIRLY REGULAR OCCURRENCE WITH MY MAPS ANYWAY. TO CURE THIS I HAVE FOUND IF YOU LOOK AT YOUR MAP BOX / SKY BOX (HOLLOWED CUBE) MOVE THE FACES SO THEY ARE OVERLAPPED BY SAY 50% ALL ROUND THE BOX, SOME YOU MAY EVEN PREFER TO MAKE FLUSH TO THE OUTER EDGES. IN CASES LIKE THIS I USE THE EDGE MOVE TOOL IN PREFERENCE TO SCALING. BUT THAT WOULD BE TELLING THE MASTER HOW TO SUCK EGGS HA HA HOPE THAT HELPS DAN. BEST REGARDS. PHILL.C.

Man! The all-caps made it feel like I was being yelled at . I first built the level with no skybox at all to see what would happen. I've done this many times and never have received this error. I then added a skybox and still got this error. In any case, I wish WED would tell you WHERE the leak was so that you could fix it. Obviously WED knows theres a leak (in order to report it) so it seems that WED would have to know WHERE the leak was (in order to know there was one!).

Dan, Sorry about the CAPS first post n all. WED can be a bit contrary to say the least. Recently built a near perfect cylinder by way of making a model in Wings 3D and MDL'ed it into WED. Then traced and shaped over the imported model with blocks in WED. Did a full build and was getting a error W010 vertex out of plain, Not to much of a problem says the manual? But it just did not want to build, and I gave up with it. In saying that I have just rebuilt the MAP just to get the error code to tell you. Guess what it built with no errors at all.(This was just a model with no sky box). Also when it started throwing up errors block 52 vertex out of plain,it was grouped. So I ungrouped the whole model/cylinder. When selecting every individual segment,They all came up as block 52 independently. That may be because I don't think I rebuilt after breaking the model up? WED ? Seems to hang onto memory or it's own way of thinking sometimes and goes for the shortest route which isn't necessarilly the last thing you input. An example, building MAP entities seem to disappear sometimes but they are there. In the past I have found closing and reloading WED can help. Well Dan you know more about this than I ever will but it might help someone.

Hi pocorev, This may be going off of the original theme posted by Dan, But have you noticed for me anyhow that you should never resave/update say an MDL usually saved in MED to your work folder, Without first deleting the original file. If you don't do the delete WED seems to pick up the original MDL, Which means it was not over written on saving the new/updated file properly. Just something I have noticed and as standard practice now I do first delete the original. PS of course the file may have been saved and updated correctly but the MDL/file in WEDS memory (if there is such a thing is not updated ).
