Hi everyone :-) Long time, no post for me.

I'm doing a project for my character modeling class. I have a character that there will be about 30 of, seen mostly from afar (across a bit of water on an island). I know that 6.5 is more powerful than before as far as rendering power, so I was wondering:

Am I better off modeling a low-LOD and a high-LOD character, or is there a good poly count that will be good from both afar, and upclose? There is a chance that the player will get to play as the character, too, so I want to keep that in mind.
