What is a bloody "bloom effect"? I've seen one in action but what does it do? Make the screen look lighter... wow, that really something. I can do that with panels, can't I?

I don't understand what it does, can someone please explain?

Technical it takes the current view, blur it, makes the lights parts lighter and the darker parts invisible, and blends the resulting images with the normal view.
So in a result the bright parts are even brighter (most in time, depends on how you config it), and they have a kind of glowing effect around them.
You see that for example if you look at the sun through some leafs of plants.

It is so low on my PC though, I am getting a laptop soon which is better than my PC (it will have Shader Model 3) so it may be faster on that. I might use it

the bloom effect is my top favorite shader. i dont like a lot, only a few, like bloom, FFP multi texture, Heat Hazard, cellshading. actually thats it.

The one in the "shadercollection" is too slow and you can see the entity on-screen sooo bright. I'm upset

But I look the one from the Sphere demo to test out but I need help, what colour shall the image be to bloom?

I don't think that the bloom effect from the shadercollection is a fake.

ps: the camera is in debug mode, so the player model is floating in the sky.
