Hi,
Most of the sounds in my level are fine just by dropping them in and setting the volume and distance...
However, due to the default doppler effect, there are a couple sounds that sound terrible when turning or walking away from them when they play. These are sounds just placed into the level, not attatched to a model or anything.
2 questions:
1) Just wondering if there's a way to have a sound play without the default doppler effect?
Another thought, Ive been reading about ways to adjust volume, and to scan whether your near an entiy that plays a sound etc,
2) Can a sound just be given a name like 'sound_0.wav' and have it work with LOD?
Thanks Bunches!

oops, I think that's in the manual with the 6.4 update, Im still using 6.31.4
I did however run across snd_tune
In this example, does frequency represent the doppler shift? or how fast the sound loops?
As for my second question, when out of range for a sound, does it stop playing, or does it still run continuously but the volume is off?

Does doppler_effect work with 6.31.4 ? Could I get an example syntax like the manual tends to show?
thanks!

Thanks Grimber! That worked to stop the doppler effect. To be clear, I couldnt find that in the manual, hence my skepticism of it working with v 6.31.4 Jason
