Installation and particles on wine

Installation and particles on wine - 02/20/14 14:50

All the bugs I'm reporting is when running Gamestudio on wine 1.7.2.

Occurs nothing when pressing the "next" button on the second installation window(MSM2MSI_gstudio).

except when setting to zero, setting p.size does nothing.

Often when a object is selected on WED, it is not instantly marked as red, it is needed, per example, to move the mouse wheel.

Wrong place. Here you go about reporting bugs in Wine.

I think that can't by told "Wrong place", because who have the bug is an arbitrary choice.

No, it's not. Conitec can't fix Wine bugs. You wouldn't ask Microsoft to fix an Adobe Flash Player Problem, would you?

I can indeed not see how we could help here.

I disagree. There is nothing like "Wine bugs" a bug is a problem when Wine runs X.
strictly talking, I think that these problems can be fixed by Gamestudio (e.g. using other features from the subjacent platform) and Wine. The question is what part will be easier to fix and if it will not hinder other goals. This is the arbitrary choice that I'm talking: what each part consider a bug for them.

Example, it's the same as you asked developers of some Play Station game, why this game don't have full speed and sometimes freeze on Playstation Emulator. It Is a question for the creators of the emulator, not for game developers. Same things for GameStudio and Wine. 3d GameStudio isn't compatible with Unix-like operating systems.

Actually it is not. Wine is not an emulator. It could be a driver or hardware issue. If Wine can run some full featured 3D game without problem, maybe the problem could be fixed elsewhere.

So many Windows games and programs don't work properly on WINE, yet they work fine on Windows. While it would be great to get 3DGS to work on other systems, and be able to port to more platforms, it's simply not part of the package at this time.
