Algorithmic trading course with Zorro

Algorithmic trading course with Zorro - 11/04/16 10:26

I recently had the opportunity the review boatman's three-part course "Algorithmic trading fundamentals". I can recommend it for anyone who wants to go into algorithmic system development. It gives a more thorough and detailed introduction than the Zorro tutorial. Especially you learn how to 'read' a strategy und understand what it does.

You can enter the course through the link on the download page.

Thanks for recommending my course, jcl. I hope that it helps people discover the power of Zorro.

Many questions about the course are answered on its web page, but for anything else, please post questions here or drop me a line at kris[at]robotwealth.com

A quick shout-out from me.

I've completed the course as a novice programmer, and I highly recommend it for all beginners. It takes you from zero to hero in no time at all, and is definitely worth it, if you are serious about using Zorro.

@4xBones - Thanks for the positive feedback! Really glad to hear it was useful for you.

@Repilado - Apologies for the late reply. Yes, the course is all online. The time to complete will really depend on your current experience level. If you're new to both programming and algo trading, I think you could work through all three modules in under 100 hours - but individual mileage will vary. If you already have programming skills, module 1 will be a breeze and you'll get through it in a few hours.

The course is definetly good and highly recommended. Having said that, you finish programming your own strategies as well after completing the zorro tutorial. It is a really good tutorial that everyone should complete as well.

Hi Boatman, is there any chance to have a preview of one of your module to better evaluate the courses?
Thank You

Hi. I can also highly recommend the course. I worked through the course in about 1.5 weeks and find myself often going back to the course as I had next to zero coding skills (apart from a little visual basic) before I started the course.
Thanks to the course I am now in a position to develop my own strategies. Its been a very steep learning curve for me.
Also can recommend JCLs book if you happen to be able to read German ;-)

for me the most important question is:

did it improve your ability to make better strategies now?

for example, are you able to eliminiate backtest bias with higher precision now? maybe im too new (read only the blog/book/manual/tutorial/his infinty page) but it feels like that there cant be that many informations what i didnt pick up yet.

i know: the book only, and the blog only, and the tutorial only - is not enough. but if u put all informations into one pool, it shud be pretty good alrdy.

i hope you understand me wink
