How to plot a character?

Hi all,
when we now have the interactive chart window I am wondering how can I plot a character?
Let us say I want to plot a Bar Number above each bar for visual debugging purposes or just a bar counter (ascending numbers bar by bar so long condition is met) like a TD Sequential:



Optimally i would like also control the position, style, font and colour of such character.

I looked under Types for Plot in the manual, but have not found a solution.

There is no function for plotting text to the chart, but it could be implemented of course if there's common interest. You can post a suggestion to the Future section.
