Zorro 1.42

A new Zorro version was uploaded:

This version contains the new single step mode and panel system. A description of the new features can be found here:

Please also read the part about updating your system. This version will stay here for a one-week test and then become the official release if no problem was found.

Subscribers will receive new versions of their Z systems or plugins next week. It's now also possible to subscribe Zorro S at EUR 20 per month, which is probably better than subscribing several Z systems and plugins separately.

On Windows Server 2012 while trying to install 1.42 I get:

Same issue MatPed reported in http://www.opserver.de/ubb7/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=454348#Post454348 already about 1.34.

Getting the same error running Windows 2012 Server on my VPS. Also getting the same error on my old XP machine. No other issues with any other update (but can't remember what happened with 1.34 ).

Indeed! This is the second time that this happened - apparently QSetup loses its user information from time to time. I've fixed the setup - please download it again.

Hi jcl. I missed doing 1.40, and the 1.34->1.40 upgrade instructions are now gone. How do I upgrade from 1.34->1.42 with open trades?

Better not. We have not tested skipping two versions. To be on the safe side, set Margin to 0, let the old trades expire, and open fresh sessions with the new Zorro.

Thanks jcl. Alternatively, since there's only 1 intermediate version, can you post the 1.34->1.40 instructions? Then I could just do the 2 upgrades and be done.

Adding two update instructions is not guaranteed to work. We don't test the combination and there can be in fact cases where you can upgrade from A to B and then from B to C, but not from A to C. - I don't have saved the last update info, but you could continue trades. Only the location of the .trd files has changed from Lof to Data.

Sorry if I wasn't clear: I wouldn't be adding/combining the 2 instructions. I'd be doing 2 upgrades, 1.34->1.40 and then 1.40->1.42, each per their own instructions. Won't take that much time to do both. Obviously have the 1.40->1.42 instructions in the manual currently. Would just need the 1.34-1.40 instructions - was the .trd move the only thing?

Yes, that should work. I'm pretty sure that the .trd location was the only thing.

*sigh* Except that I seem to have gotten overzealous in my cleanups & deleted the 1.40.2 install file; and can't find a link to it anywhere on the site. Can you provide a link to it?

FYI #2: The 2 step upgrade appears to have worked fine - all trades continued. But perhaps won't know for sure until close is attempted?

Old versions are usually kept a while on the server under their version number, f.i. Zorro_1402.exe for Version 1.40.2.

Perhaps the Version History section in the manual could include the links to these as well as the upgrade instructions?
