types of fxcm account and broker's API

types of fxcm account and broker's API - 03/19/18 14:36

today fxcm allows the creation of two types of accounts, one for Trading Station2 and the other for mt4 + TradingStation2 (albeit with some limitations).
Reading from their documentation it would seem that the only account that supports the ForexConnect API is the first one (https://www.fxcm.com/markets/algorithmic-trading/api-trading/).
The two accounts can be easily recognized because the first is a number consisting of 10 digits while the second is only 8 digits.
Is there anyone who has more information and can confirm this?

thks a lot

Hi alb. Welcome to the forum. I'm running Zorro on the 1st type (10 digits), so that definitely works. Don't know about the 2nd type (8 digits).

HTH.

Thanks DdlV for your answer.
Also I'm using Zorro with a 10-digit account for about 7 months and everything seems to work fine.
Last week I opened another 8-digit real account and Zorro regularly opened trades. But today I saw that Zorro tried open a trade without succeeding. This is why I would like to clarify this topic for me and others users.
The simplest solution is migrate to a new 10 digit account but I would like to know more about FXCM API.

thks a lot

You're welcome. Be aware that trade opens (and closes) can fail on the 10 digit accounts also. A perfect broker account doesn't exist. frown

Regards.
