Oanda practice account doesn't retrieve indices

Oanda practice account doesn't retrieve indices - 05/30/16 14:09

Hi,

I am not able to retrieve indices using my Oanda Practice account with Zorro and the included Z strategies. The error I get is:
!Invalid instrument: GER30 is not a valid instrument
Error 053: GER30 unavailable!

Although I am able to retrieve the price history for indices, e.g. GER30, using Curl from the REST API. The asset name is DE30_EUR on the Oanda REST API interface.

Could it be that Zorro tries to retrieve a different asset name?
Can I set the asset name somewhere?

Btw, would there be any strong reason to prefer Oanda over FXCM?

Yes, GER30 has a different name with Oanda, so you need to use a different asset list. A list named "AssetsOanda.csv" is included.

http://manual.zorro-project.com/oanda.htm

For the Z systems Oanda has no strong advantage over FXCM.

Thanks jcl for your quick reply!

I see that AssetsOanda.csv contains the correct symbol names, e.g. DE30/EUR, but the Z strategy doesn't seem to use them.
I tried to add the symbol name to AssetsCur.csv, but that didn't help.

What am I missing here?

The Z systems use a list named AssetsFix.csv, so you must edit it and add the Oanda symbol names at the end. You can find details in the manual under Import/Export.

That works! Overlooked that in the manual...
