Pool trade open fail - recovery needed?

Pool trade open fail - recovery needed? - 04/26/16 13:35

Hi. I'm running a script with Hedge=5. Last night it wanted to Cover 2 GER30 at the virtual level by Opening 2 at the real NET/Pool level. But the Open failed because the market was closed. Zorro has not retried the Open.

I can't find this situation discussed in the manual, although I seem to recall it's happened and been asked before and the response was no worries - all is OK.

Can someone please provide a manual link or verify that my memory is correct that:

a) The virtual level knows that the real Open failed and will keep itself in sync correctly; and
b) I don't need to do anything manually to recover laugh

Thanks.

A failed pool trade will be considered when a new position of that asset is either opened or closed. So theoretically no action from your side is required. Still, better put a time filter in the system so that it does not trade when the market is closed.

Thanks for the quick response jcl!

Is this in the manual somewhere? I couldn't find it...

Also, this happened with Z12.

I also saw it with Z3 and US30 this past Sunday night after Weekend ended. (In that case it was to open a new position, not close/cover an existing one, so it didn't seem quite so critical.)

Can the markets hours be included/updated in the Z systems?

Thanks.

They are. But US30 is a 24 hours traded asset. It's still possible that a trade is not opened when liquidity is low, like just after a weekend, or when the server is briefly down. So this situation can always happen, but Zorro will always get in sync again when new positions open or close.

Hmmm... The error message Z3 posted for US30 says explicitly "Market is closed". Wrong error message? Bad return from FXCM's API?
