FBX Import is not supported by Blender, you just could export to FBX format...

EDIT:
For importing into Blender i use the .3ds File format.
If you import it into Blender, you have to Convert the Tris to quads and apply the Skins new to you Model (UV Mapping is still there).
This is how i get my Models out of my different .blend Files and could use them in one .blend File.

EDIT#2:
ive seen your other tread on User Request, the Method with Milkshape is also possible, because MS is able to import .MDL7 Files.
Just import the .Mdl7 Files into Milkshape and export them to .lwo.
Then you could import the .lwo Files into Blender.

@ rvL_eXile - Thanks for your replies.
I found that Milkshape would not let me test it in trail mode and even though it is quite cheap I won't spend money on a product I can't test. Too bad because Milkshape is that good ground between MED and Blender where you can do animation.
As for the .3ds method - I am trying to get the animation already in the .fbx file.

I did a lot of reading on Blender forums and understand their problem with fbx importing.

This is the method I am using now.
1 Downloaded the fbx converter from autodesk.
2 Then convert the file to fbx 2010.
3 Then convert the file to Collada.

I'm Having problems getting it to work right. The big problem is that I have to save the fbx 2010 in ascii and then go into it with notepad (word) and change all the absolute file paths by hand. I will be testing more today to see if files that have no texturing will import into Bender.
