Flash (ActionScript 3) for 2D games ? - 05/29/09 07:24

Hi

Does anyone use Flash CS3 with ActionScript 3 to create 2D games ?

In the past, I wrote a few simple games with the old ActionScript 1 and 2 but it was rather clumsy. ActionScript 3 is in some ways harder but easier in other ways.

Does anybody have any views or experience using ActionScript 3 for 2D games ?

Actually Flash is designed for small games. Not big games.
Sorry, i know nothing about AS 3, i have a littile experience with AS 2 and AS 1. An experience that allows to make a movie or something.

ActionScript 3 is very different to ActionScript 1 & 2.
Apparently, code is a written in a seperate.as file rather than in movie clips, frames etc

In fact, writing games in AS3 is much better, as (when done right) it results in better maintainable code and use of objects
