I've bought a few models on TS and post on the jobs board there... I even met the game designer for the project I'm working on now there so I think it's a good place to post.

I can NOT recomend turbosquid...exept for posting free samples...under a username that easyly leads to your own site or, wich I can highly recomend, gamebeep.
Tubosqid gives you 50% while you can get 75% at gamebeep.

Turbosquid vs others - 10/21/07 02:46

I sell on Turbosquid and I recommend it, as it is the heaviest trafficked model site out there… I only have a few assets up but I’ve made a good bit of money, as Loopix says the percentage is only 50% of sales where Gamebeep offers 75%... however I have one particular asset on both Turbosquid and Gamebeep… I am selling the asset on Turbosquid for $30 while I’m selling the same asset for $20 on Gamebeep. I’ve sold this asset 9 times on Turbosquid and have only sold it once on Gamebeep. Model sites are a good way to make a bit of cash from overflow art work, if you have stuff sitting around not getting used you may as well sell it. Publishing to Turbosquid is pretty fast and painless too, very streamlined! They are constantly improving things over there too.

Ps. there are lots of other model sites you can sell on too.

Nagashi:
I agree totally.....why,because of the fact it is the heaviest trafficked model site out there.I recommend it too. GameBeep is a cool site too and recommended as well.Look!,it's all depends on the individual...do a little research or experiment with some of your products for sale on these site....make your judgement based on the results.TS to me will always rock because they have been out there first and therefore have a more solid sale base.Like "Nagashi" pointed out "Publishing to Turbosquid is pretty fast and painless". So,there you have it....just my way of looking at it,You decide.

I have to disagree. I tried to sell a few of my packs via TurboSquid but I get much more sales via our Dexsoft-Games page. The fact that TS wants to have 50% is also very bad. Most partners I know (GarageGames, Darkroomstudios, Gamebeep) take less.

Because of that I stopped to upload my packs to TS. It is just waste of time if you get only a couple of sales per year.

Another problem with TS is the huge amount of content while 99 percent is pure crap. This is just spam, like a really big pile of garbage and you have to search and search until you find something good.
They even offer a simple texture for 50 $ or just a wall, a cube for 50 or even 99 $. This is often funny or crazy. They simply need a quality management.
