Thanks George.
One question about the contest:
Does this tool have to be made with GS or can we also use things like .NET, C++ ...?

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/03/10 15:00
i don't think it has to be made with GS but for GS.
hm... maybe i will update and clean up my blender exporters.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/03/10 17:51
Does it have to be a "real tool" (with an .exe) or can it be a useful library that makes programming easier?

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/03/10 19:16
Read the AUM92, summer contest:
"You can use any GameStudio edition (including the free version) to develop your tool."
So i think it is not possible to use a other language for the tool. But maybee we can use a dll if the mainpart is in lite-c?

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/03/10 19:20
Widi, this text is always included in each contest announcement, so I don't think thet this neccessarily means that you can't use other languages. But let's wait for George's or jcl's answer.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/03/10 20:11
JCL is the sponsor; I'll post his answer as soon as I get it.

As always, another great new edition of AUM! Thanks again for the interview George, and I am glad it has been found useful.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/04/10 09:04
Thank you, guys! It was my pleasure to present your great game, William. I look forward to seeing it released on the market.
P.S. Just got the answer from JCL concerning your contest question: you can use other programming languages to create the tool(s) but if you do that, you must submit the source code as well.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/04/10 12:16
Ok, but what about my other question: Does a library (like a Lite-C header) count as a tool, too?

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/04/10 14:32
George, thank you for the new AUM. If i see there is a new one, i break all wath i do and download / read FIRST the AUM.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/04/10 20:07
Thank you a lot for the kind words, guys! Lukas, if your library helps our community it is good for the contest.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/04/10 20:30
And what if the library only helps (experimental) psychologists?
Posted By: Hummel
Re: Aum92 ready - 05/04/10 20:48
you meen psychologists who program with GS? I think that would be a bit too special, in fact probably nobody would vote for you.
Posted By: Clemens
Re: Aum92 ready - 05/04/10 21:13
Probably you're right, I forgot the 49% voting power of the community.
Nevertheless if the focus is just on "helpfully tool at all" instead of "helpful for the most users" there should be enough fair voters, who take that criterion in consideration...

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/05/10 00:51
oh man, I would have submitted one of my editors for easy scripter, If I didn't have to provide the source.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/05/10 10:44
I'd like to see a library that helps psychologists, but I'd go for a library / tool that helps as many users as possible.

I hear it's been a joint partnership and will be releasing at the beginning of 2013. After that, all games will be created by simply clicking a button and there will be no need for developers anymore.

I may be a little slow, but what the hell is TUSC?

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/07/10 22:57
it is an editor that allows you to create crysis by only using mouse with very few clicks. more info may follow from older members.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/08/10 12:46
In the unanswered question one, there is a little mistake I found last week (its the code from physics car tut)
this part
phcon_setmotor (constr_back_left, nullvector, vector(-ang_force, max_speed, 0), nullvector);
phcon_setmotor (constr_back_left, nullvector, vector(-ang_force, max_speed, 0), nullvector);
has to be changed in
phcon_setmotor (constr_back_left, nullvector, vector(-ang_force, max_speed, 0), nullvector);
phcon_setmotor (constr_back_right, nullvector, vector(-ang_force, max_speed, 0), nullvector);
only if somebody wonders about that. It works with the wrong version as well

And additionally the biggest piece of vaporware since Duke Nukem Whenever.

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/10/10 05:04
Yes, TUSC was a project that would have allowed you to create a complex, full game by simply clicking a few buttons. We've even seen screenshots of it and the community members were very anxious to try it. I hear it's being used right now to create Duke Nukem Forever

Re: Aum92 ready - 05/12/10 13:43
great AUM, George, as usual. I am still using old codes from earlier AUM.s. Still an amazing resource, and I still find great solutions for whatever i want to do, and if its older syntax, I find it easy to convert to A6. Thanks for your incredible work.
