Jaws - Free Shark Model - 05/25/06 09:03

HI all,

here goes another one from my model workshop: A shark model. As always: free to use.. no credits required.

How it was made: I looked for picture of a shark mesh at turbosquid and used it as a background picture for reference in MED.

The model has no animations.

Re: Jaws - Free Shark Model - 05/26/06 19:37

That's one nasty shark
I like everything except the sharks faces, abit
blurry in his mouth and I thought sharks had some very sharp theets
to but I don't see them
But again, a very nice model rincewind !!!!

Cheers

Re: Jaws - Free Shark Model - 05/26/06 20:11

Thanks everybody,

you're right Frazzle.. the face is a little blurry and the teeth are not modeled.... I got a little lazy in the end :-). That's my big problem... my professional workload (that's what I make a living from) keeps increasing almost weekly and keeps me from playing around with gamestudio.

Best regards

Re: Jaws - Free Shark Model - 05/28/06 07:25

That's true,

I've also seen a lot of Desert Eagles on this forum. That's why I try to concentrate on other models. Currently, I am working on the "Big Boy" steam locomotive in a "Union Pacific" Version, one of the biggest steam locomotives ever.

I am also grateful for any proposals on which models people on the forum need, so I can observe any wishes for my future model plans.

Good morning to everybody. Hope you have a nice sunday.

yay there actually reads Suomi

Re: Jaws - Free Shark Model - 05/28/06 19:53

Thanks, Frazzle, you're being very kind.

I always look to build models that complement what already exists in mdl. To that extent I am not as creative as you think, as I didn't invent the originals I build the models from.

I actually know where Antwerpen is. I live quite near to the Belgian and Dutch border - about 80 km from Aix-la-Chapelle or "Aachen" as we call it.. so I am not too far away from you.

@Inestical
I actually pick a random map of Europe on google
Btw, how do you know it's Suomi ??

@rincewind
No problem man, you don't have to be that modest
You're just a great modeler !!!!

Dear Rincewind,
As always, a very nice model, my friend.
I don't have a use for it at the moment, but downloaded it anyway.
Hope this finds you well.

@ Rincewind
Allé, ik zal't terug in't Engels typen:
You clever boy
Posted By: rincewind

Re: Jaws - Free Shark Model - 06/01/06 20:26

yeah let's get back to English. I wouldn't call it cleverness. Actually it is nothing to be proud of. I didn't have to work for it. It is just there, like some strange skin disease, you can't get rid of. I was simply lucky, that's all.

Back to topic: I hope to be able to provide some more models in the future. And there will be a large model pack again for Xmas, with models for general purposes, like sci-fi elements that you can combine to build something else. I guess that could be quite helpful.

That's actually the way the 3d models for the movie "Robots" was made. They had to build a complete city in 3d and found that it was an enormous effort. So they came up with this idea: Instead of building each model separately for each scene, they decided to build general purpose components like screws, crossbeams, springs etc. and put them into a virtual warehouse. This way, they could build numerous models out of the same components and create the complete city in one and not just individual scenes. So I think providing elemental, modular models in addition to speciality models would be a good idea.
