Not sure how many people are still using the animated sky textures but I tried my hand at one and it didn't come out too bad. Here is a screenshot of the texture applied ...
and the texture is a tga so just right click the link and 'Save Target As ..."

nice one burt. I don;t realy use skycubes. tend to use these or domes most often. so it will be useful

I use PaintShopPro and draw 2 different pictures (128 x 128)
then put them on a new picture frame (256 x 128), save it to
a .tga file. when I add it to my WAD, I can't see it animate
like you did.

The name must start with 'sky' and the system will use it that way. Check to see if the 'sky' option is selected in the texture properties window....
