I just want to underline that this is no exaggeration. This pack has been made by Martin Teichmann:

He worked for Deck 13. He was part of the AAA project Venetica (rendered by a modified Ogre3D engine) as you can see at his portfolio website.

He has lots of experience how to optimize texture usage and how to create additional maps and props for game contents.

An European vegetation model pack made by him will be realeased soon at our shop.

I wonder what the frame rate might be in Ogre.
One of those models as about 34000 faces...

The models look great, but a small group of buildings and a few character models and your frame rate might be a bit low.

On the other hand, there are nice LOD models included with this pack laugh
But a fast turn in the middle of a market place where you can see all the models in its best resolution, might be a bad idea.

To make the renders better why not add some NPCS

I am not sure but I just checked in C4 and got about 100 FPS in close range of the house with the most polygons, all normal maps applied, real-time shadow mapping, a parallel light and a point light:





I think this all depends on the scene management. In C4 you can use occlusion portals. So you can place a block inside a building and it will occlude everything behind it. So even a whole city could be done if you create small alleys and lots of structures blocking the view.
And besides that there is LOD. The lowest LOD has only 100-200 polygons. Assassins Creed has been built in a similar way.

Someone has to make a stress test wink

You can always clear some details to make models lower-poly. We left you are choice. Lods works good and we made a very good texture optimization so even scene like this uses only about 25MB of Video memory which is very good.

The models are really great and my testlevel with LOD is running very well.
I did not use shaders in my level but this is just a question of time.

Where can I find some nice characters which fit to this style?
Do you plan to offer some "non dancing" oriental models?

Really nice work, some of the best environment work availabe to buy Ive see. Good job.
You might want to think about making more models/environments in one particular style rather than lots of varied models, this would make it easier for customers to make a consistent game.

its ok, but everytime i see a model pack running, i always feel dissapointed that its not running in 3dgs... i mean, its being aimed at gamestudio users, yet it never shows any gamestudio shots... the engines that bad? frown

This video is from a customer and only a stress test, not a real city scene.

I dont think it is that bad. This is a time problem on our side. We try to publish a pack each week and most of the time we achieve this. So we have limited time. We render images and create short real-time scenes just to have some images for the website and therefore we use software with a quick work-flow, real-time feedback and visual material-editors.

The last scene is not from Dexsoft, it is from a customer of us. I would show the same video here if a Gamestudio user had created a scene like this.

most of the stuff on my site is done shown in realtime in the a7 engine, and its not so obvious on the generated normals on things that are not organic but on organic materials, most basic normal mapping shaders shade models oddly as opposed to the way they look in other engines as well (not sure if that has anything to do with it as well or not). As always, great job on the model pack.

I imagine using MED to import all meshes, textures , normal maps and apply them ... crazy

Let's talk back to 3D assets :
AAA textures and models as beautifull as Assassin Creed game smile !

If you had some character artist , and a 2D artist for GUI and 2D art, you could really produce an AAA game !

Yes we will start from september to make some nice games but in Unity smile. We made test level from this pack with dosents of houses without any optimizations and even without LODs and still level goes well and remember first house have 30.000 tris and we placed minimum 10 of them one beside one.
Amaizing power.
