[FREE] Small CPU Benchmark (Source) - 05/22/07 16:43

Dear community,

I was working on a small cpu benchmark. Because of to less tester I can't say anything about the results.

Anyway, you can get the source at

http://www.tsgames.de/CPU-Bench_source.zip

Screenshot:

Because the bench use the physics engine, you need the professional edition.

If you just want to bench or don't have the pro edition, you can get the published version at

http://www.tsgames.de/CPU-Bench.zip

It would be nice if you post your results (you can find them in the "Results.txt").

Maybe someone build a menu or a great ranking system, that would be nice. (Let me hear about it )

Use it for free or commercial projects, credit would be nice.

P.S.: Programmed in less than 6 hours

Have fun

nice tool

Graphic-Power Frames: 4762
50 Objects Frames: 3826
100 Objects Frames: 2151
200 Objects Frames: 193

at 200 Objects it reallly lagged like hell...

core2duo 1.83ghz
2048mb ram
Radeon x1700 256mb(up to 1024 hypermemory)

notebook...

Hi,

thanks for your post

I know about the lags at 200 objects, I had 2 fps

I post my result, too:

Graphic-Power Frames: 5820
50 Objects Frames: 3626
100 Objects Frames: 1042
200 Objects Frames: 67

Notice: I have seen in the task-manager that gamestudio use just 1 core. So you can't compare dual-core cpu's and "normal" cpu's

Maybe there is a trick to let gamestudio use all cores, but I don't know about it.

Greetings

Not all that great (on a 256MB GeForce FX 5200)

Graphic-Power Frames: 3376
50 Objects Frames: 2669
100 Objects Frames: 1028
200 Objects Frames: 87

200 Objects seemed like a slideshow compared to the others!

Nice little contribution!

not really. I, with the best proc., get the highest benches with the 200 objects. While slin, with the best graphics card, has much lower.

Hmm, if less physic objects in the level, the gpu-power is giving the results. But at 200 or more objects, the "real" cpu-power is shown.

Maybe the benchmark must have more physics objects at all, but then you have less than 1 fps

maybe camera.visible=off; would concentrate the test on CPU power instead on GPU power

AMD 3800+ AM2 X2
ATI Radeon x1900 GT Crossfire
2 GB DDR2 Ram 533 MHZ
should get better results I think,

Cheers

I know , I've test several times. Because I've many programs open and many process are running. Sometimes I get more than 10000 @ graphic-power.
And just another notice: The engine doesn't support crossfire.
