Three 'Noob-like' shader questions regarding A8 built-in Shaders - 03/15/12 10:06

I feel dumb asking these, so it must just be a bad day...
I need these questions answering for MtlFx, cause I want to KNOW
how to use it properly, so I can decide if I WANT to...

1> What are the skills/properties you use to 'tweak' the shader
setting when using fx_bump and fx_specBump?

2> Does the normal-map in the above bump-shaders NEED to be the
same resolution as the diffuse/texture map?
And do mip-maps apply to normal maps?

3> I BELIEVE that the material in MED is un-necessary when you
will be applying a (built-in) shader, am I correct?

4> Im sure there is another questions, but I cant remember right now...

NOTE: I am NOT using lightmaps in any of the above situations.

Thanks guys...

PS: If you get the urge ... can you take a look at THIS
model and tell me if there is anything 'wrong' with the way it is set up,
in regards to applying fx_bump or fx_specBump to it...
(like are the skins in the right order, is the normal-map
'bumpy' enough, etc)
Anything wrong with it let me know please.
Im even open to suggestions on 'better' ways of doing things...

Thanks again...

I can at least say something to 2) and 3), the normal map needs not to have the same resolution as the texture map and the material in MED has an effect, it sort of overrides my own material settings.
