Strip Mini-Golf - 05/14/07 18:47

Started a Strip Mini-Golf game. Started this when i got the aum63 golf physics code and have been running with it since(after i worked out a few bugs in his code). Have now got 6 holes done out of the 18. You can view some intial screenshots at my website
http://dragonlairme.tripod.com/
Just follow the golf link on the homepage.
Please note that this is a mature/adult site used mainley for game mods.

when does she start to strip? when you successful hit the hole? (this is not meant sexual in an way)

Cool! You know my site?

Couldnīt find a download for the game.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - 05/14/07 19:31

It is going to be a 18 hole course. The player model will have around 15 pieces of clothing. make the hole in par or less she loses clothing, blow the hole and she gains a piece back.
There isn't a download yet has the game is still in production, and i am the only one working on it. Hopefully within a few weeks it will be ready for beta testing and witin a month after that a demo released.
I will probably be looking for beta testers soon, but it should be noted that at the current filesizw of the game it wikk not be able to be delivered over the internet. So i will have to find about five people(of age) that don't mind giving out there mailing address.

Haven't added the skins yet, trying to get the holes done first. HEHE

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - 05/15/07 22:56

Very unique idea, I love it!

Perhaps after you score, she could run over to the hole and do a dance, there
could be various levels of dance depending on your performance on that hole?

Ever seen "strip kittens"? If not, check it out, it was done with Game Studio.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - 05/17/07 13:03

I almost have the 9th hole done, then it will be time to add some scenery and a few skins and then it will be ready for beta testing(to point out texture flaws, skin flaws, wether the hole meets the par eequirments or not and a few other things)

Thanks, I'm having to do a little re-vamp due to level size. The build was getting to long and i hadn't even added scenery yet, so i split the levels up, also still re-vamping the hud and putting together the player(s),

Hiya, you know my website?

I think itīs better you make models yourself. The problem with most 3D art is that people use default models, which everyone already knows from the head to the toe.

Yes I know and have visited your site. The player "MODEL" I am using is actually a animated sprite created by me using Daz Studio.

@Ex Citer

That's your (gaming) world, right?
Posted By: EX Citer

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - 05/29/07 16:02

Not exactly.

The mix of gameplay and erotic is correct. But both is only at the beginning here. Itīs wether a real game with a start, an end, a story and defined characters nor itīs some hardcore pounding. But itīs the right direction, so I like it.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - 05/29/07 16:44

I see your point, we'll see how it develpos.

But I like your opinion about the society taking games about fighting as normal, but games about what is between humans as unethically and that it should be the other way round, thus I said it's your gaming world.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - 05/29/07 20:04

Absolutely 100% correct!

Gogo Strip Mini-Golf! More screens are always welcome. Btw. Do you use a physics system for the ball movement?

Edit: Oh, I see! Aum Physics code! Sounds like 3DGS physics engine. Making a Golfball is really easy, you will see!
When I made my first physics game I suddenly had troubles because everything, what was floating in the air without physics, was now always was dropping down. The problem was physics == realism, video game != realism Of course I solved the problem after a while.
Posted By: Dragon6261

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - 05/29/07 22:55

Yes, I started with Georges Physic code for the golf ball, but had to tweak his code as there were a couple of problems with it. More screens on the way shortly.

Tripod doesn't allow remote linking so a lot of people won't even see the image. I've tried to copy and paste but that doesn't work either for some reason.

By the way, even on your site there's an image which says 'Hosted by Tripod' and not showing up, the Trixie image,

This is being done to compact that page a little more. This pdf will be a detailed info packet on the progress of this game and will be updated at least once a month if not more. You will be able to see it at the website and i will probably post a link to the pdf here when it is done and when it is updated.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 06/19/07 18:16

Ok so here goes a somewhat extended post, which is actually a poll.
Here's the thing, i am at a point in this project where things could go either way.
As it stands now this game would be freeware(due to a license aggrement i have with a certain piece of software i use),but as it stands now i am on the verge of breaking the 100mb size and not even halfway to completion, so i realized that it would have to go to cd/dvd-rom to be sent out, which costs money.
I would only charge for the cd.dvd-rom, it's packaging(mailer), and shipping and handleing, all of which i ballpark figure at around $10 - $20 us dollars. i ballparked because i have no idea what shipping cost is to overseas, or if there is any extra fees for shipping overseas. So here's the question:Please vote only once:
Posted By: EX Citer

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 06/21/07 19:29

If the game would be smaller and more explicit I could upload it on my website. The webspace is no problem, for the 100mb. Just the traffic would be too high for a 100mb file.
Posted By: Dragon6261

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 06/21/07 19:40

Thanks for the offer, I am just going to keeep building it and see what happens, who knows what will take place between now and the time(?) it's completed. Although i can tell by the response(or lack thereof), that i do not need to rush thru this particular project. So maybe i will devote more time to my other project(Parasite), and work on this less. I will complete this though even if it winds up being just for me because i have fun doing it.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 06/24/07 14:53

Well I decided to keep trudgeing along with this game at full speed, in fact within the next two weeks or less I will be needing some beta testers for the upcoming demo I will put out.
I need people with different machines and such to test fps and things. I also need feedback on textures and basically everything, so i need serious beta testers not just people that want to look at naked women.
Because this game has nudity, I also ask that you be at least 18 years old(I don't want to get nailed for handing out porn to minors).
So if you are interested you can leave a post here or leave me a p.m.
I need at least 4 testers.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 06/24/07 15:32

Actually I am only looking for nudity and I am also short of time. Anyways I am attempting to beta test your game (isnīt that big, isnīt it?).

I still need 3 more testers.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 06/28/07 13:41

As a side note due to a recent desicion to upgrade my website in a couple of days, once the demo is done testing it will be hosted on the website for download, and then once the game is 100% complete it will also be hosted on my website as a free download. Also as a side note if you chosse to test for me i will send you a pm with the download link for the Beta Test, it will not be posted in this post as it is in Beta stage and not for the general public.
And as the post before this one says I still need 3 more testers.

What lanuage is your computer in?
You should be able to rectify it by going to your hard drive (C) and creating a folder called Program Files so that the path to it is
C:\Program Files\ and then extracting the file to that folder.
I am sorry about the problem, as i thought most computers just have the directory i point to
For future updates i will try to make file 1 an installer, so is everyones harddrive C
Posted By: EX Citer

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 07/05/07 17:28

lol, no. German computers donīt use a program files folder but a programme folder. The second folder causes problems because other programs reads the folder trees like that: C:\program~

Thatīs from ms dos where names canīt be more long as 8 letters. If a programm calls a folder structure like that, itīs working aslong as there is only one program~ folder. If there are more program folders some programms crash. Thatīs why I wonīt create a program files folder. Had that problem once and couldnīt do anything against it but reinstalling windows. Deleting the folder didnīt fixed the problem. Windows automaticly created even a third folder by itself called program~
Posted By: Dragon6261

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 07/05/07 18:15

ok, so you do at least use C: desigination for your harddrive. if this is so in the next update(early next week) i will change the path to just c:\dlp.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 07/06/07 12:47

The game style itself as never attracted me but never the less it could be a nice game qua gameplay with some nice tracks and environments.
This all could be still improved on the latest version of your project. The physics aren't quite right yet too, I expect that when I lauch the ball at full power and during the begin stages of the route the ball is crossing, a certain colliding with a wall takes place, the ball should bounce off with a certain angle at a relative speed which can be fast or slow, depending on the angle the ball has collided with. But with the state of your physical interaction, this isn't the case, it always has the same speed when it collides with a certian wall. One other thing that isn't accurate is the slope of the ball, the ball at the end of his rolling speed doesn't completly stand still but there is already a next try while the ball hasn't stop yet. So it makes it look like a brut stopping event The models itself aren't bad, the textures on the models are good
too Mind, that this is ment as constructive C&C to give your game an extra boost to krick up some stuff. In overall, I would advice you to concentrate on tweeking between a nice physical system for the ball and some more nice tracks ^^

Cheers

Frazzle

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 07/06/07 15:33

Thanks for the feedback frazzle, as far as the physics part i'm not to good at it. I know what you mean about the angle thing but i'm not sure hoe to fix it, i tried messing with the damping settings, but didnt seem to get anywhere.
As far as the tracks go i wasn't sure if people wanted to listen to music during gameplay(some people find it annoying)

Changes made:
Installation: This was done so hopefully every one can play. (DO NOT ALTER THE PATH OF FILE 1)Read the readme in file 1
Hud change
Camera angle change
Default player change
Some menu screens
played with the physics (but please read the post before this one)
Once again all constructive criticism is welcome.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - POLL ADDED - 07/10/07 13:48

Allright. I played it.

The game extreeeeeeeeeeeeemly extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemly needs a rotateable camera. maybe the camera could rotate with the golf club, so I always see where the ball is going to. I missed tons of holes because of the !*@#!" camera.
Some kind of lightning would be beautyful aswell. If you have a version with lights (the chance is high) then make sure the map is buildable without errors so the sunlight makes shadows (if the shadow flag for textures is on).

The most powerful hit is so incredible weak, I A) thought the ball is heavy like a something realy heavy, or B) the person who is swinging the club is totally weak. I couldnīt think of me being swinging this club, because itīs so damn weak! So I couldnīt identify with the game. I can identify more with super mario in mario world. I say the most powerful hit should be at least five times as powerful as it is now.

The grafics. The Panel of the hot chick is very dark. Can you do something different to render it brighter? For example, is it a panel or a screen entity? If itīs a screenentity make it a panel, I think that should help.

The airplane in the first level is made by me. Dangerous Vaults 1.

The physics are strange. Can you post the code? The ball sometimes gets throught the wall. I recomment to check the manual about the physics paramaters which make physics instable (for example remove the "grip")

I hope the girls are stripping. Because of the physics and the camera I was the total failure for now in that game. And I realy tried hard!

If the racket, club thing looks like itīs digged out from a graveyard, I recomment to make the complete game in that style. Why isnīt that minigolf on a graveyard and I am playing with a shovel or that that racket which is now, and have to hit some open graves. Call it cementry of the golf freaks. The ball has to be shot into different things, like big digged grave holes and skulls and so on. handicaps are the cementry, like tombstones trees, and bushes. As reward, vampire ladies and other over natural ladies are stripping (the ladies you got now simply called "vampires" and itīs done )

I think that could sell. I think I know someone who would like to publish such a game. And I would love to help you to make the game like that. But I have right now another game work in progress and your golf game would need to become more hardcore. Maybe Spike has some graveyard levels he could offer.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/14/07 13:31

Just a small update on progress.
I have a list of about 25 things to do before the next beta version comes out, and I have about 11 of them done.
I believe it will take about a week and a half to fully implement the rest of the items, maybe a week if i'm lucky.
I think everyone will like the new update when it comes out.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/15/07 11:15

Might be later than sooner, took it on a test run last night and noticed a minor major drop in framerate espically with the weather turned on, so it might take a little longer than i anticipated for the next release.
I need to take a strong look at the level, and script to bring the framerate back up to where i want it.

Version .830 is available for download at website.
It is only the first four holes, but contains some major changes.
All input (constructive) is welcome

That's really sad, you guys were definitly on the right track to get a proper game !! Making back-ups are a handy feature but mostly lots of people not always executed it at a regular base, but I hope you get to the point where you were or maybe even more

WOW!!!!
I can't believe my luck!!!!
I actually found a hard copy (that means printed) of my .830 Version of the game.
It was in my wifes desk under a bunch of papers. We moved a month ago to a new place and they must have been put in the wrong box.
All I have to do now is reconstruct the world map, do some extra menu scripting, and remake the "players" and i will be good to go.

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/20/08 13:57

Ok, The priginal Model was made by Daz Studio people, then highly deformed by me using Hexagon( I also use hex to paint the skin.) The models are way to high poly to actually use in a game so screnshots are taken and then altered in PSP X and then used in the game as panels
Posted By: FoxZero

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/21/08 00:41

So you didn't make the model?
Posted By: Dragon6261

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/21/08 10:42

No , I stink at human model making, but i can take a pre-exsiting one and deform the crap out of it. I tried to make some or get someone to make some decent one's for me, but people seem to stray from my projects due to the adult nature, or they want way to much money, and since i'm not making anything from these projects(strickly a hobby for me) I really can't afford what they want.
Posted By: BlueBeast

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/21/08 13:36

They really have some great models for great prices I noticed. However, as you said they're a bit too high poly for actual in game use.

If you're having trouble finding low poly humanoid models for a fair price, I have basic male and female models at under 2,000 polys without bones for $10 and with the bones for $15.

And they can be morphed to your desire. Go take a look, maybe it's something you'll want... Nordic Epitaph

And though I've said it a thousand times, noone seems to care, but if you need hosting for pictures or avatars, I'll upload them for free to my server. Just send me the pics, and I'll send you the links. They'll be there practically forever.

I know a few other designers on here that probably feel the same way, lmao. Dangerous Vaults? I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole; don't look it up.

I've met quite a few people who thanked me after stating that I intended to make an AO rated shooter. Games are so tame nowadays. I mean UT3 took out the full body dismemberment system from UT2K4!

So retaliate by substituting violence with sex and nudity! lol

Thanks Fox and Blue, and Fox, how's that shooter coming?
Posted By: FoxZero

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/22/08 21:43

Eh, I'm reassembling a development team but I'm getting some hate on here because we're switching to a more capable engine. Hey A6 is great it's just not gona do a next gen game, especially a shooter.

Anyways the game is gona use real life weapon tactics over typical point and click shooters. Right now I'm studying guns heavily and how how bullets kill people to simulate real wounds, it's gona be sick. smile Oh, not to mention our innovative melee system is gona make Manhunt easy to play. lol

Once my budy gets back from vacation we're gona meet face to face and get some real level design done, but we won't put en up here,so our official site link is here http://trailofblood.foxzero.net

As far as I know this game won't feature any nudity lmao
Posted By: lostclimate

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/23/08 00:37

if your thinking of switching engines but want to get some work done in the time until then you might want to start looking into making your own custom level format/editor, that way you can start designing levels now, and just write an importer for whatever engine you switch to.
Posted By: FoxZero

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/23/08 01:47

That's a good idea. Thanks. I currently own several low budget model/scene editors that allow plug-ins. I was going to continue to use that software but the export part slipped my mind. Oh, and I have yet to try Blender, I own several programs that export to Blenders format.

I am working very hard on the project already, I'm doing tons of research and writing tons of documentation on the plot and gameplay mechanics. By the time I'm done the coders won't need to do any research as I've explained everything they need to know. smile But I'm sure developers would like to see some visual progress as well. Sucks I can't code or I would have stuck it out longer by myself, I envy you Dragon lol

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/23/08 20:21

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/24/08 10:55

Looks like a decent engine but sounds very graphic intensive and may leave out some people with lower end machines from playing your game. That's one of the reasons i have stuck with A6

Hi,
Your player image looks fine but it's givin too much shade of POSER. If possible I believe you should modify the character facial part to give it disjoint appearance with poser.....and more realistic....

True, very true. However this engine is supposed to be very optimized for older machines. But if I'm going to be making a next gen game, especially FPS, I gota use more powerful stuff.

The character looks nice

Ok, How much would you charge to make a low poly version(with bones) of the model above

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/26/08 02:33

well.. I dont know if I could for cheap... i mean, i'm already selling good basic models with bones for only $15...

it took 3 weeks to make them. amd not for lack of effort. They took that long because anyone can make a model... mine are optimized and created to bend realistically etc etc... and I made then vertice by vertice.. no kidding.

Even if I could make one for you for a good price, i simply dont have the time anyway...

Sorry man frown

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/26/08 13:44

Thats ok Blue, but i do have one question about your female and male humanoid models and that is are they already unwrapped for texture or are they just one solid body for texuring.
Posted By: BlueBeast

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/26/08 18:28

Well there's a picture in the description of the skinmap, basically the skin mapping was like mapping from the front...

However, what I did was actually take apart the model, kind of an explodes view, and then did the mapping.

However, every model will probably be skinned in a different way, and maybe have additions of vertices/polys, or moving some things around a bit, not to mention different hair and even adding clothes perhaps. After those changes, my mapping will be obsolete.

So how I've done the mapping probably wont apply to a lot of things.

BUT, if you're just looking to use the same models and tweak the boob sizes, and heights/weights of them and just change skins for each model, then you could use the same mapping all the time.

One key element to the female models, is the boobs have bones too ... so if they are well endowed, or especially active girls, you could add some realism in the animations.

Are my models perfect for every scenario? nah... unless someone makes them just for you, that'll never happen. Always buy models knowing you'll be making your own tweaks and adjustments smile

Hey Blue, what are the file sizes for your male and female human models.
Posted By: BlueBeast

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 07/31/08 19:45

with no skin they vary from 588 KB to, like 780 KB depending if they have bones or not.

for the female model, i have a few versions.....

the basic female with or without bones, one has no hair so the developer can make their own, I also have the 'exploded' model to make a skin map from the front view, things like that.

I never just send one model smile people get a few things with a purchase smile

Re: Strip Mini-Golf - small update - 08/02/08 05:31

You can send me a Postal money order if you wish since you're here in the U.S. and I can PM you

Or you can go to a Walgreen's and buy a Greendot Money Pack card and load $15 on it and send me the verification code.... the downside to the moneypack card is it costs $4.95... so you'd be paying $19.95 for the models :P But it would be instant payment.

You decide what you want to do and let me know smile
