Maybe Conitec sould remove file_cpy - 06/13/10 12:41

(sorry for my bad English)
Hi guys and jcl,
Maybe Conitec should remove file_cpy ?
Because file_cpy is used to copy file from wrs resources.
This way, C-Script users can lost their source code easily even they checked the “Resource” box in Publish dialog. (maybe they should learn LiteC ?)
But the resource can be unpacked easily (if you want to unpack grin ) if you send your wrs to conitec.
That’s my opinion. Thanks for reading (sorry for my bad english, again).

And how you want to copy something out of the wrs when using the pro?

You need file_cpy if you want to use the wrs wink

And you need to know the filenames to extract the files.

You could use a brute force attack for this. Heelx explained this in another thread.

@Sylar : Thanks !
with C-Script we can unpack artwork+source code.
With Lite-c we unpack artwork only (because the source code is compiled to the EXE)

As far as I know it only works for .pak extension.

Re: Maybe Conitec sould remove file_cpy - 06/14/10 07:32

the .pak is just to tell the engine to look in the wrs.

You can also use it to copy any file from pointA to pointB on the hard-drive...

Yes, but afaik you cannot copy foobar.bmp from resource to disk. You need to rename it to foobar.pak BEFORE resourcing.

Re: Maybe Conitec sould remove file_cpy - 06/14/10 08:52

Due to the .pak extension, file_cpy can only extract files that are intentionally allowed to be copied.
