[GST Net] WLan - 10/02/08 13:56

Hi!
Connecting over LAN works fine, I type in the IP and then it connects.
Now I have one computer using WLAN and the other using a cable, both connecting to the same router.
why can't they find each other's games?

WLAN is works the exact same as LAN so you should still be able to connect to the game, I would try connecting both via cable through the router, you may need to open some ports on the router, or change some setting in the game, because WLAN works the exact same as LAN except one doesn't haven't wires, lol.

So Try connecting both computers through the router with wires, if it still doesn't work, means there's either a port problem, or an ip problem, something with the router.

Connecting with cables works. Weird...
WLAN still doesn't.
I can connect to the internet though using WLAN, and to the other computers, though only limited...
very weird.

turn off all firewall and open all ports,

and see if it works. if yes, one of them was blocking the connection.

another thing is the NAT mapping, so your local client adress in the routernet. might be allocated different with wlan.

Indeed - but a lot of different security options so they'd be the first things I would check. Like Oxy suggested, open some ports and try to check all the wireless features currently active to try to weed out the culprit ^^

Stupid question but are you sure that you are correctly connected with the other PC? Try to ping to the Other PC: Type in -ping and the IP Adress of the other PC in the Command line Conole.

If this works and all your firewalls are inactive and your wlan router is set up correctly you can trie different ports for the connection.

start both exes with -diag parameter and with a function call GSTNet_Debug(on) in main and post me your acklog.txt
are you sure your server_ip is correct?
