If I use models which are placed above the origin in MED (this means the min_z value is positive / higher than 0) and give that entities a clipfactor other than 1 (for example 10), the entities are clipped randomly although they are inside the view frustum.
Thanks for the hint. My models, part of a rope, clipped seemingly at random as well (clipfactor increased to account for vertex deformation) as it had no vertices with x < 0.
