Hello everyone,

About 2 years ago I already posted about this on the forum ( See here )
but since I changed some settings I had this problem again, and this time I can't really fix it, no matter what I try.

What I want is an even brightness throughout my whole map. No shadows, no extra lights. And I want to adjust the overall brightness of the map, so its not too dark.

This 3D-View inside the WED shows an example of what I mean:

As you can see, the two shapes are evenly textured in one color and have no shadows.

But, as soon as I build the map it will look like this:

The top of both objects is now brighter, the sides are shadowed. It is no longer even.

So, of course I tried a lot of things to fix it.
I usually set the blocks to Flat because that worked back then, but I tried Turbulence and Shaded aswell just to make sure.

In the Building-Options I tried out all possible combinations of lighting adjustments, tried all the sliders and buttons, configured the sun azimuth and elevation in the map properties but it does not seem to help.

Is there something I overlooked or something I should try?

Hey

I have an idea:
1 - attach unlit shader to blocks
2 - set 'sun_light' to zero
3 - increase 'camera.ambient' to let's say 100

Does it help?
Greets!

You literally solved my problems in 10 seconds.

Quote:
sun_light = 0;
camera.ambient = 100;

So the solution was not even inside the WED
Thank you so much 3run!
I don't know how you always do it, but you are awesome grin
