Hi, is there a reason why the World Editor compiler cannot open a terrain that I am using? The path to the directory that the terrain is located in is defined using a PRAGMA_PATH in the main script. I am able to open, position, and scale it in the World Editor which does not suggest why the compiler cannot open it.

The error is: "Preparing lighting ...WARNING: Couldn't open terrain terrain.hmp ok"

Regards,
82RJAZE

maybe because you use free or extra. terrain shadowmapping is supported only commercial and above.

No, the Gamestudio edition is not the issue. I am using an edition that supports terrain shadow mapping.

Maybe your Terrain file is broken? resave it and try again...
Or delete the "Pragma" Line , copy your .hmp File to the same Directory and try again...

EDIT:
Do you have tried to use the Terrain as Model File? Maybe somethings wrong with your .hmp File !

regards Sebastian

The terrain file does not seem to be broken. The Map Compiler is able to open it when I copy it into the same directory as the main script; however, for the sake of keeping my files organized, I would like to be able to access the terrain file in its separate directory. Are there any other suggestions as to why the Map Compiler cannot find the file?

Thanks,
82RJAZE

Do you have defined the "PATH" in your Script File? Without setting the "PATH", the script cant find any files, which are in subdirectories.

I have tried defining a PATH to the directory although the Map Compiler still cannot find the file. At any rate, if the path was not defined in the main script correctly, then I should not be able to use WED to add the terrain, correct?

PS: How is a PATH statement any different from a #define PRAGMA_PATH by the way? Don't they work in the same fashion?

Thank You,
82RJZAE
