Because you cannot decide which part you really want / you cannot use it for most games?

Well I wouldn't buy a GTX 480 for its extreme power consumption. In addition to that the performance relation from that Crysis benchmark most certainly is the best case scenario (e.g. check THIS) - in general the GTX 480 is about 10-15% faster while there of course also are games where a HD5870 is faster...

From what I read, the GTX480 was always faster than the 5870 and sometimes faster than the 5970... Also - because of the micro stuttering the 5-10 fps would not be better. The power consumption is not a that big problem for me...

Edit: there is a Big difference between these tests: Yours only tested the usual 480 and 5870, Mine tested the oc/Special versions(like the amp)

Well on the one hand the Zotac just gets about 5% faster and on the other hand you also have to have in mind that e.g. a HD5870 Toxic from Sapphire also uses higher clocks than the standard HD5870 (while it of course still doesn't catch up with a GTX480)...

If you don't have to mind about your power bills then the Zotac might be okay for while I still think the additional 130W is just crazy and when considered to be used for like 2 years that's quite an additional cost you have to add to the costs when buying...

Well when considering the time I'd have this card under load it probably would result in like 50€ per year. When using the card for two years that adds up to 100€...

That's about a third of a new high-end card just for getting a GTX480 together with the fact that if a setting won't run fluid on a HD5870 it in the end also won't run fluid on a GTX480...

Well but I don't want to start praying here: I've told my opinion which needn't be another one's opinion and that's fine with me. Just go ahead and buy what you think is right: The Zotac GTX480 definitely is a fast graphics cards - for me its cons make it unattractive though...

Those high end cards are anyways too expensive as about half a year later a similarily fast card with newer tech of a newer generation costs half of it...
