I am looking at either Torque or 3DGS. One of the few things keeping me on Torque is the network which can hold 256 people in a high paced game.

It depends on your skill-level.
You can do anything when using an external multiplayer plugin,
or writing this part yourself with a custom dll for example.

You can also use an external plugin like my ANet plugin which also offers an unlimited number of clients. A plugin can also be used with Gamestudio editions that don't support multiplayer.


ANet - A stable and secure network plugin with multi-zone, unlimited players, voip, server-list features,... (for A7/A8)!

even with unlimited number of clients, the ammount of connections u can do and keep your game playable will have alot to do with how you code your game and send data, just because torque is capped at 256 players, doesnt mean you can easily get 100 player moving online lagfree.. then again, maybe lag wont even affect the type of game your doing so it depends on the genre also
