Okay, I searched for another mainboard (because you said I could get another cheaper laugh )

What do you think of that one: ASRock 870 Extreme3 ATX Sockel AM3 ?
(USB 3.0+2, Crossfire, DDR3 1066-1866, 80€)
or: Gigabyte GA-890XA-UD3, 790X Sockel AM3
(USB 3.0+2, Crossfire, DDR3 1066-1866, 122€ - but at hoh.de is a bundle with the 965BE, to get it cheaper)
or: ASUS Crosshair III Formula 790FX, AM3
(USB 2.0, full Crossfire, DDR3 1066-1600, 147€)
or: Asus Crosshair IV Formula blush
(Sound, G-LAN, FW, SATA3, USB 3.0, eSATA, 180€)

And what do you think about that cpu-cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme Rev.2?

I am still not sure about the graphics card, because the friend who want to buy my actual pc, want to get it earlier...
But I guess I would take the 5870 (because of microstuttors of the 5970) Toxic Edition:
Sapphire Toxic HD 5870 2048MB GDDR5 PCIe

Another thing:
2x XFX 5870 1 GB - what do you think? Better than the 5970? Or better take the Asus R.o.G. 5870 2GB ?
So many questions..

Concering the mainboard:

Personally I'd recommend a Asus M4A88TD-V Evo or a Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H. They use the 880G Chipset which I find handy because if your graphics card breaks for whatever reasons you still can use the onBoard graphics. Those boards also have all the other usual modern features just as USB 3 ports which might be interesting in the future. Their costs should be around 100 € - they only are made with one graphics card in mind though...

Concerning the CPU-Cooler:

Yeah the Freezer also isn't bad but I'd prefer the Scythe Mugen for its great fan...

Concerning the graphics card:

As I said before I really wouldn't recommend using multiple GPUs and there's no difference between either using two cards or buying a 2-chip-design like it's the case for the HD5970. I can explain that a bit more detailed if you want - the problem is the way those cards share their work leading to phenomena like micro stuttering which can give you a non-fluid impression of the game despite of you having good fps values...

Concerning the actual models: The Sapphire Vapor-X / Toxic and Powercolor PCS+ series got some good reviews. Taking a 1GB or 2GB model depends on your screen - if you have a screen with a 1920x resolution or more 2GB might be a good idea when using all the high quality features like anti aliasing. If your monitor has a lower resolution you won't really need more than 1GB...

@Toast: Again, thanks laugh
The idea to have on-board graphics is good if the graphics card would brake (or if I need to wait for the HD6000 series :P) - I guess it will be enough for windows7 main-things and programming?
But of course I miss the Crossfire/SLI if I want to buy another one, but as you said twice, dual gpu means stuttering... So it is completely enough (as I could buy another card at all than laugh )

CPU-Cooler - okay, you convinced me laugh

I have a 1920*1080 main screen and a 1280*1024 second screen, so I guess 2 GB are better, and I am also going to use aliasing tongue
It is really a hard thing with the graphic cards...

Thanks again laugh

edit: I just read about the micro-stutter problem: These micro-stuttering is just visible at "bad" framerates below 45-30 fps. For usual games that do not happen, and if, I can still turn the graphics lower...

@Hummel: I still have my notebook to check your shaders, and also - make them compatible tongue !

@Julz & Sid : superb...

Yeah - it's even fast enough for some older games...

That's not entirely true - at around 40 fps the real stutttering kicks in but even if you have high frame rates there is this effect of having a non-fluid impression. There was a good video at Youtube showing this but I can't find it right now. It's extremely annoying in racing games (making them kind of unplayable or at least not enjoyable imo) and it feels like the car constantly is changing its speed. That together should be the main K.O. reasons for such Crossfire/SLI systems...

There also are other ones like the entire multi-GPU support being extremely driver dependant and especially in new games things might not work correctly resulting in many things beginning with a performance of just a single card up to visual errors...

Hey,

thanks for infos. I also asked about a gaming pc system at the "chip"-forums, and they had some good arguements...

Actually I have two options:
Alpenföhn Matterhorn @ 965 BE
4 GB GEIL Ram 1333
Gigabyte GA-890XA-UD3
Asus Matrix Hd5870 2GB Platinium
"other usual things"

or:
Alpenföhn Matterhorn @ i7 870
4 GB GEIL Ram 1333
Asus P7P55D-E Pro
Zotac GTX 480 AMP!
"and so on"

Why I would take the 480? Because of that:

and that:

--> I did not forgot what you said about the 5970 (so this would not look as good as for the 480 tongue )
