Hi !

For Next Gen style game, i don't have found with 3D Game Studio or in the shader forum a standard normap map shader using a specular map.
And affected by the ambient directionnal light (or sun or any other could do the work) !

Anyone knows if it has been done with 3DGS ?

it isn't mtl_specBump which comes with 3dgs?

in A8 that's spec_bump.fx !
But soryy, it's not normal map and specular map.
Caus there is a specular parameter, is just a spacular value applied to all mesh , not with a specular map.

I'll try to search on Acknex Unlimited and some shader packages
if i can find one.

I'm very surprised A8 have not that very standard, and very used shader ??

Well ,

Really, we don't have a shader that take acount of
-color map
-normal map
-specular map
Shader existing from years in game industry since Doom 3 laugh ??
Perhaps some talented shader programmer will make one for A8 ?
let's dream of it laugh

there has been one there since like last year. for someone who bitches constantly about a lack of features, you should probably know what features and resources are available.

Thanks Losticmate : i've been throught wiki, but i've been too fast or i was not awaken so missed it !
Ok great, this shader is too much usefull (specially to use models from a sculpting software) !

All A7 specular shaders used specular maps since a very long time. Good morning and welcome to the 21st century! grin

no, they all use gloss maps, there is a difference, specular maps have color in them. standard normal mapping shader doesnt support that.
