Hello everyone i have a simple question, imagine that some one wants to make a comercial racing car simulator, this person has to pay the real car brand for using his names?

you'd have to use your own car names such as what burnout or grand theft auto does, if you wanna use real cars, you could email less popular car companies and ask for permission, they pretty much, may like the idea

I worked on a Racing game before, that had
the rights to use a brand from a single manufactuer.
They are really picky about their car brands, and
did not even allow showing damages on the car, etc.

Its very hard to legally use the brands, and
almost impossible to get them for multiple car types.
(You need to be EA or Microsoft to finance that)

Best is to use your own creations, that mimic (not too close)
known carmodels.
Or, as suggested, try to contact a small manufacturer,
they might like the idea to have some free advertisement
for their cars this way. (Im thinking about Chinese, Russian or Indian manufactueres)
(Mercedes or Ferrari probably wont give you permission though ;))

Hey you guys confirm my suspicious, my idea is to recreate 24h of le mans and american lemans series, like simbin did with gtr2 recreating the fia gt, in fact it is strange that in gtr2 they have ferraris, porshes, lambos etc with real names, how simbin being a not very bing producer could pay those brands?
