I tested it today (alone). Before extending the game, I would improve the weapon handling. The weapons feel completly unnatural. The movement was mostly ok, but sometimes I had some bad lags (played in austria, 2 Mbit). Overall: Nice start, cool idea but still a lot of room for improvement

wow, i had never expected that much feedback in such a short time! thank you all for testing! this sure is a great motivation to continue working.
I won't be able to work in it for the next week, but i'm currently deciding what to add into the next version V0.6:
- jumping (over crates) - dead enemies sometimes drop powerups (health, "quad damage", maybe sentry guns, grenades or airstrikes) - weapon supply droped somewhere in the level, players have to pick them up, newly joined players can get them too - deleting own crates in build mode - simple gravity for boxes - 1 or 2 new weapons - change to version 7.80, traffic can be reduced a lot with "NOSEND_Z" - hopefully some better sound effects - and of course lots of bugfixing
I'm currently thinking about what could be done to make the game less brutal and more funny. When i began the game, I wanted a horror survival theme, and had a different level that was pretty dark, but it didn't work out. I then changed it to a more "serious sam"-like gameplay.
what is not going to be included, at least for the next versions: - player classes (soldier, medic etc). this is not team fortress - different hit zones for enemies. I won't use polygon-exact shooting on the enemies, because their animations are not synchronised with the server (in fact, the server doesn't play any animations) - removing starter.exe and putting all options ingame.
because there is a lot to do, it'll take 2-3 weeks to finish V0.6.
EDIT: I checked the server log, and the current record is held by: Germanunkel: 95352 Points

Ha! go me I must admit though that the guys playing with me would've gotten more points if they hadn't dropped out. They joined again afterwards, but then their score was reset... Yes, serious sam sounds like a fun style for a game like this
