Hi all,
I tried to make a screensaver using gamestudio. Well, now I want to show the results of my work.
Here is the simple installer:
Download (1,7 MB)
The name of the project is "Bubble Screensaver". The idea was to create bubble spheres over the desktop (in Windows Vista, an similar screensaver already exists).
Eithermore, the screensaver should also be able to reproduce the desktop on a 3D-Cube and let the bubbles fly in this cube.
So well, how it really works?First of all, an extern programmed tool starts, read the config and create a picture of the current desktop.
After that, the tool starts the engine. Finally, the engine loads the picture into the model or creates a sprite.
Now some objects will be set in the level, using a sphere physics. The objects are invisible and a sprite (in fact 3 sprites) are attached at them.
I had improved some of the physics behaviour in order to create a smooth and realistic bubble-movement including bouncing.
Of course you can customize the screensaver, set the number of bubbles and the size of them for example. You can also configure some other settings, like fading-out behaviour of the background.
If you don't want to see your desktop in the background, you can also use an image instead
Please note: I had to pack the scr-file with nacasi, so may it could be possible that you get a virus-warning, but don't worry, it's just the kind of file-cryption which could lead to this warning.
Have fun while testing and Regards
