Pressing F2 brings me Tools -> History Center
In MT4 this downloads history data to your local machine, above the amount normally available. To reduce load on the servers, only a limited amount of data is pulled down automatically when you open a chart.
You also need to increase your max bars in history and max bars in chart in options.
Finally, at least in my versions of MT4, you lose this manually downloaded history the next time you login.
However, as far as I understand zorro accesses history data directly from the mt4 server and not the local history store on the machine.
MT4 servers usually have only a limited live price history, such as 2000 hours. Therefore the loadHistory function normally does not work with MT4; downloading historic price data requires direct access to your broker's price server. Strategies such as Z1 and Z2 that use a LookBack period longer than 2000 hours still work with the MT4 plugin, as missing prices are substituted with available price data; but they can be slightly less profitable at start. This is indicated with a "gap" warning in the startup message.
So I was wondering if it was possible to force zorro to look at its own history store if it has gaps from the mt4 servers.
