Stencil shadows with high poly models are really slow, and even more slow if that model is an open mesh. Create a version of the model that is a closed mesh with lower polycount, then use my.shadow=myshadowentity; (search for shadow in the manual, you can find an example there).

Also, besides showing shadows on the scene, that's what shadows do. LoL, I though it's the other way, stencil shadow function is to drop the fps, shadowing is just a side effect. Create a version of the model that is a closed mesh with lower polycount, then use my.shadow=myshadowentity; (search for shadow in the manual, you can find an example there). It can be simpler by using shadow_lod :), still you must create the model's lod first(using pro you can generate it automatically)
