WeGame.com's download is here and although it is available, anyone wanting to record their supported games are welcome to do so.
I'd have to say I was overjoyed when I saw this on the internet today on digg.com. Unforchantely this may only work according to its supported games, since it is beta, I will not write it off as of yet, and maybe in the future we can use this tool, but upon trying a test level with it I could not get the application on WeGame.com to work with 3d GameStudio.
Note: I did not extensively test this I simply ran a level from a script with and did not try an .exe file or any other setting on WeGames to try to get this application to work, however you cannot use simply use the hotkey from startup of the WeGames.com application and get it to record your game at any time like FRAPS can.
At the time of posting I had not tested the application so I apologize for any false advertising on my part but I will put forward the facts I know... WeGame.com is a website made to upload game videos onto the internet using a client based download. There is no catch (no payment, or any restrictions I have yet found) and it advertises the following.
Features:
Videos limits: 10 minutes and 100MB
Supported formats: .avi, .mpg, .mpeg, .mov
source Note: WMV support coming momentarily
Some other points are listed
here and advertises performance reports, although I have not found this feature as of yet, I have not looked in depth. (In the advertisement the Frame Rate is shown among other things, so I'm not sure how far this goes), as well as an "HD Mode" with a higher quality recording with a cost of reduction in speed for your computer if it is not of high enough quality (the author recommends dual core users to use the HD setting and normal computer using normal mode).
In turn the author of the page offers simply that everyone does not upload copyright, illegal, or pornographic videos
Upon testing this does seem to be a good alternative to FRAPS however in its current state cannot record anything 3d GameStudio has made as of late since it is still in beta. I will keep a lookout and let all of you know if this turns into a useful resource for us or not. I hope this helps anyone that may need such a resource, and I apologize again for the misunderstanding since it is still in beta, I'm not sure if this was worth me jumping into without investigating first, however good luck for anyone who tries this resource, it looks promising.
