HI All.

There´s sometime I dont post something about my projects, in fact, due to personal problems and excessive work, I was not able to work with game dev how I would like to.

In the next days I hope I can release a beta demo of this game, that by now still uses newton physics, including the AI cars, but will be migrated to my own physics system to a official 1.0 release.

The player has the option of practice, qualify or race against 3 AI karts. The Ai algorithm take care of the overtakes, and overtaked ai´s give room to the overtaking one, avoiding crash. Still so, physically implemented AI´s act mush more natural, spinning, having over and under steer, that makes the race look very interesting.

I use my own waypoints system.

There´s a TV camera system, that takes care of overtakes and events, positioning the player where the things happen.

I uploaded a small Kart Indoor AI Video on youtube, that shows MI AI code progress since the last post. The presence of Fraps to capture the video is not so good to the video itself hehe.

Now, I just made some sreenshots of my almost finished project, Kart Indoor :

hi carloos, been a while:) from the big screens i first found it a bit boring. but the video shows a lot more.. nice camera system and nice behaviour of the carts. maybe you add some stuff to the levels, flashlights, a barrel here and there.. some ppl standing around-

sorry for the big screens, Ello.. maybe I should post it a little smaller ?

People standing around are on my plans, but the track is a exact reproduction of a real track, and I must keep it as the original.

I will add some vehicle traffick in the boundaries of the track, and some more little details.

oh, it was no ofense with the big screens. i guess that just underlines the emptyness. but if it is the goal to rebuild a real track, and it looks like that, than its ok. i hope i dont miss the demo:)

But I think your textures need definitely some work-out.

Are you talking about the ground texture ?

If yes.. You are right, I need improve it. But it takes so many time to compile the map, that I will only change the ground texture after finish the game. It looks blurry, yes.

No. Almost every texture.

Ground texture is blurry. Cart and people textures are flat, like a flood fill of one colour. Some other textures are not perfect as well.

This is a nice project. But a better presentation could lift it to a professional one.

Ah ok.

I will rework some of the textures before launch. In fact I had to save video memory because of the Ai code and physics. Now that I have the game stable, is time to make some goodies to the visual

Carloos, judging from the video, I'd say that the gameplay looks great! I'd love to play this someday

On another note, I agree with Frank. Polish the textures a bit and it will definitely be one project to stand out.

Try to make a demo asap, I know that the last few details are the biggest pain in the a**, but you should be focused and finish it. Good luck.
