You cannot.
.pcx files have no alpha channel but .tga files can have one.
Check out the wiki for a "HowTo":

..but in the templates,"blitz.pcx" is a pcx file and yet you cant see the black parts of that image,only the fireball.that's what i want in my pcx images...

this can be simply set by the overlay flag, on any image format...
