Wow this is scary

I opened the forum and saw...
a complete new layout and thought "wahh where to click to go anywhere Oo"
But basically i like the new design xD
What do you think of it?

I thought WTFOMFGROFLOL?!
and then yeah I was confused because it looked really weird...but now I really like the new forum, because it offers cool new functions (if you click on a username, a menue opens, where you can view the profile, write a pm etc, instead of just going to his profile and if you want to preview a post you don't have to reload the page...just that small thing, but I like them.)
The only thing is that the design look a bit confusing to me

I like the options, I dislike the design... like... alot.

I miss the ability to edit my old post...

It is as if it was posted by another user or something... I can edit posts I have done since the new forum came into effect.

I think it's better than before. I just needed a short time to get used of it.

I dislike it.
Ugly colors, too many useless infos crowding the forum,
worse design of the smileys.
And wrong font-sizes.

I dont see any advantage, apart from conitec wanting to use the newest ubb version.


I begin to get tired with that 3dgs thing anyhow... for several reasons.

All in all it's better and the sidebar you can turn off in your preferences. and you are right...the smileys are ugly especially the ones next to your name show if you are on or not!

For several reasons this layout is not good. There is too much information located everywhere on the screen that doesnt help reading a thread.

I dislike it, too.

The signature length decreased... I wanted to edit some Informations in my Profile, like this second title. When i wanted to save, it told me my signature is too long. It worked before so now i had to decrease it when i want to do changes in my profile.

Could you increase that please?

Better say that in the ask conitec forum, they probably wont read it here :P.

It's nice that you can turn off the right column, but these colors are really hard on the eyes. Haven't checked to see if they can be changed if preferences, but this just isn't pretty. Too bad...

There are two more skins, one totally white, and one with dark purple intead of red.

Thanks Joozey, just took a minute to take a look in preferences. The white one (stock) is much better. I'm a happy guy again.

Now if we could just have more than 100 characters in the sig line it would be great...

I agree, I think it's better too. At the moment the look is a bit disorientating, but I'm sure we all will get used to that.

Maybe the horrible layout is just an aprils fools joke...

I was pretty surprised as well and it needs some time indeed to get used to as it's not a habit look

I'm rather neutral about the new look, I think there are good new functions which compensate for the 'bad' stuff/user unfriendly ^^

ubbthreads_dark isn't too bad. no ugly red anywhere.

yes, ubbthread_dark is quite ok...

the red gamestudio style probably was responsible for half of the threads gone wrong on this forum. red makes agressive.

I have less problems with getting used to red than purple, I prefer the red version :).

It fit's A7 main color.

At least you can get rid of the left panel if you go into your preferences.

I can agree again with you. But unfortunately the font is too small in this theme.

Red is a color to raise attention, to make some animals go crazy, it is the color of blood, it raises adrenaline. It is used widely for displaying warnings but it distracts alot from reading and writing.

I don't know any professional webdesign using red extensively.

The new forum layout still seems to be in a state of growth, not that I would be able to perceive it. Already it is wonderful, ...like blood, aggression, animalistic craziness, and adrenaline (honestly, it is quite nice), but it should function at least as well as the old version, don't you think?
