Level Designer For 2D Casual Game - 04/16/08 11:56

Hello everyone , I'm currently working on a small casual game , and I'm looking for help with some of the levels. I'm focusing on the programming and on the gfx , and I'm looking for somone who is interested in joining me on the project. I'm looking for a level designer , you dont have to actually make the levels in wed or an graphics , you would just have to do the layouts on a paper or paint program and give them to me. The type of levels will be similar to the sonic the hedgehog levels , so you can get an idea of the type of design I'm talking about. I currently cannot pay , I'm more looking for someone to join the team , and when the game sells you will get a percentage of profits.

On a note , I'm looking to start an indie online casual game development company, I'm really looking for a good designer who can join me in this venture , I'm a good gfx artist and an ok programmer , but game/level design really slows me down to a crawl. Anyone thats interested reply on here or send me a PM.

I might pop out you something. But it means if I have the time, won't sleep, or am posessed.

I will make you an msPaint level if you could answer this:

Exactly what is the idea of the game and what kind of attributes the player has?

These are important as the level will have traps and boosts taking advantage of the both desire to finish and the attributes.

I am really looking for someone who can dedicate a lot of time to this , someone to join the project , as I can wip up a couple levels here and there myself, but would rather have someone who can just focus on the designs while I take care of other things.

As (as you can see) very few people reply, you may want to try an open business method. You say you only need a concept drawing for each level, so if you ask people to create a level out of a bunch of objects that you created/want to create, you probably have a much bigger chance on replies.

Even better would be creating a level editor, letting people create levels on the fly (and instantly test, which is quite important!).
