Matrix operation on shadow map?!?! - 05/01/05 15:40
Hello,
i start a new tutorial for scaling, shifting and rotating level-textures with FixedFunction. I think above
- running lights in a corridor like in Enterpise, should be possible
- surfing waves on the beach, should be possible
- faking flickering shadowmap (like caused by a torch/flare), but by a matrix operation the shadow map gets damaged (slightly change size and shift)
I think this flickering shadowmap would be nice but it is destroyed by a matrix operation. How can i avoid this? When this is not possible what do you want to see? Or have a better idea?

Scaling, shifting and rotating level-textures with FixedFunction for a good placement on the blocks would be that what I am curious of. Somehow the part that is needed to complete your first tutorial! Keep up your good work!
Realtimeshifting etc. - at the moment I don't have an idea whatfor I should need it.

It is finished:
SimplePixelShaderTutorialShifting can be done with FF or VS i think. Here it is done with FF.
Texkill is practialy not possible to make a levelface invisible.
HSLS Tut will follow.

Simple and clear as all of your tutorial! Thanks a lot!
It is a pity, that I don't have time to test it.
One question came to my mind: How do I apply such values to the blocks?
In your example, you applied it generally to all blocks. What, if I have different blocks with the same textures, but I need different shiftings and angles on the different surfaces?

@Pappenheimer, you have to make copies of that texture with different names.

@muralist: Take the link at the bottom of this page. The password is in the pic of the login page.
@Nadester: That means that I have to be carefull and shouldn't use this function too often, right?
