Stability - 03/20/09 20:02

Hello

I was reluctant to arise this issue in a period when our beloved 3dgs is under Unity3d attack wink

However

Is A7 stable ?

I have been using A6 for years
I did not like its workflow that much
The scripting language , well there is something better around
but...it was a rock
The most important feature, all the rest are details

Well now A7 crashes any minute or two, same as any other engine wink
At the beginning I thougt it was due to my old PC but now I purchased a new one...same problems

Also some functions apparentely do not work, and the bloody " empty pointer " message even worst tha usual

Are you experiencing the same problems ?

A7 is as stable as A6 for me. Which functions do not work?

In Lite-C there is more room for mistakes with the whole pointer thing though and debugging can be a bit of a pain. The error messages often arenīt very helpful and why the hell can engine errors during debugging runs take SED down!? crazy

But the A7 map compiler isnīt very stable for me. It crashes often.

for example the new mouse_pos3d, mouse_dir3d functions

Also I get a lot of empty pointer messages even using the popular vec_... functions
Probably you are right , I must get used to Lite-c

However it crashes very often , this is evident
