Multiplayer base - 12/22/08 10:46

Hey guys,

Call me lazy if you will, I'll admit that I am for even asking this, but I have tried reading tutorials but they never seem to flow the way I wish they would. Does anyone here have a base for a multiplayer game? Something like 2 balls moving around the screen. I can work off something like that.

Thanks guys laugh

but i suggest you dont use 3dgs native MP system.
better use ANet or GSTNet MP plugin.

I am looking at doing something in Lite-C since it seems to be the way of the future these days and I heard that GSTNet is a bit buggy with this? But I might consider giving it a try anyway.

you could try ANet. to me it's better then GSTNet:

buggy ? when, where ? if there are any issues, i'll look into this.
release 0.7 implicates no bugs, only it's on the way to release 1.0 ;-)

GSTnet is pretty good in fact, it's just needs a simplier example.(current demo is crashing.(trys to connect gstools and crashes.)

But i found Anet more easy to use, since i progressed faster with it. Maybe it's just gstnet needs a simplier example(chat+ boxes moving?) and a better/tidier documentation.

(btw i am talking about usage with lite-c.)

i know the lack of good documented examples. i'm working on it ;-)

for bug report start the demo with -diag and GSTNet_Debug(100) in your main and post your acklog.txt.

both of those plugins are great but for now ANet is little better, after all it's 1.0 version and when GSTNet comes to 1.0 version they'll be very similar, at least i think so smile
