Starter Window - 05/09/03 01:05

What can I set using the starter window definitions? I think I may be missing something, but can I let the user choose a screen resolution using the starter window? I can't see how to do that in the manual.

Under Starter Window Definitions in the manual it has "With the professional edition, you can change the engine's behavior even before level start, and after finishing the game."

What engine behavior can I set? Or, is the starter window only good for displaying a picture or progress bar?

Jason

Edit: I think I put this in the wrong forum by accident. I meant to post this in Advanced Scripting. Sorry.

I am using A6 Pro ,and yes , you are right . The window starter only shows a picture and the progress bar .

If you want to change the resolution and the color depth of the game , you have to script in your game menu .

hope it helps.

Thanks for the confirmation. I had thought that it offered more functionality because of the reference in the manual. The manual shouldn't say that you can change the engine's behavior when the starter window can only show a pic or progress bar.

there is also the possibility to define buttons for WINSTART. i think it would be possible to use buttons to choose the resolutions but the manual isn't very exact about this. i am able to define a lot of buttons but i have no idea how to evaluate with c-script which button was pressed to start the engine.
