How to create a muzzle model?
Open MED and select "Cube".
Then insert a cube in the middle of the window and scale it app. like this:
Change to "Face Selection" and select the following faces:
Delete them.
Select the following faces:
And copy them:
Then delete them:
And paste them again (they are detatched now from the cube):
Change to "Vertex Selection":
And scale them together using direction restriction and "Scale", so tey are near to each other like this:
Place them somewhere in near of origin using "Move" (still with direction restriction):
Select the other Vertices using "Select Inverse":
Scale them together in the same way. Then select the edges using "Select" with mouse draw...
...and weld them using "Weld". Do the same with the vertically rectangle:
Now we are going to create a uv mapping, so change to "Face Mode" and "Select All". Open the Skin Editor:
Load your skin picture you made bevore and use "Create MD2 Mapping", "Top", "Bottom", place the faces to the left. Then use "Front" and "Back" and place them on th right:
Close the Skin Editor. Select the horizontal rectangle in "Vertex Mode" and copy the selection:
Paste it with "Append":
Be shure to set "Rotate Center" to "Origin" in "Edit Options":
Then paste and rotate 90 degr., so you got two crossing rectangles:
Select them both and copy again:
Paste with "Append" and rotate 45 degr. Your volumetric muzzle flash model is finished:
